I never thought of using fixative (spray, right?) to seal the pencil lines! :O This is very interesting. Could i ask a question though? Doesn't the spray affect the watercolours in any way? I would have though that the paint would react in similar (see strange :D ) ways like, lets say, with salt, wax etc..

From an amateur, thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial!

If you have time for a quick question - what has been your experience with the long term effect of salt? I've seen the technique mentioned on tutorials in the past, but does it degrade the colors more quickly in the long run?

Thank you for the comment, happy you like my tutorial:rose:

As far as I know, salt do not degrade colors( at least I have never noticed it and have never heard of it before). Colors can fade with the lapse of time because some pigments are not durable and may lose their brightness and intensity especially when paintings exposed on bright sunlight.

Amazing tutorial...I must try using your yeloow pencil trick one day too.... And like yourself, I normally start with the background, but I think if one starts with the main details first, there is less danger of overfilling the background with too mayn details. :XD Thanks for the tutorial, janna. ALways love seeing other peoples methods of work! :cuddle:
